Welcome to fourth grade! It's going to be an exciting year for everyone! I am sure you are as curious to learn about your new teacher as I am to learn all about each and every one of you.
This is my seventh year teaching at PEC, and my second here in fourth grade! It is also my second as Ms. Mozenter, the name I started teaching with 27 years ago! I have trouble remembering to sign my "new" name, so if you call me Mrs. Lank, I'm sure I will still answer...no worries!
I am thrilled to be returning to the fourth grade team and am excited to get started on a wonderful journey with you this year. I previously taught third and fourth grades for 11 years before staying at home to raise my children. I received my BS in Elementary Education from Penn State in 1989 and my Masters Degree in Science Education from Arcadia University in 1996.
I am originally from the Philadelphia area and love soft pretzels and water ice! Rita's was my treat growing up, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when they opened one right here in Surprise! I am a sports nut, but baseball is my favorite. While I enjoy the Arizona teams, I am fiercely loyal to the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers. Although I love sports talk, I also love the color pink with purple as a really close second!
My family has lived in Surprise for 20 years and I have two sons. Jordan graduated from PHHS in May and will embark on his next life adventure as a Freshman at ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, majoring in Sports Broadcasting Journalism.. Seth is in eighth grade at PEC this year. Since we live in the community, you may see us out and about after school and on the weekends. If you spot us running errands, at a sporting event, or even out to eat, please come on over and say hello!
Let's make this year a learning adventure full of fun, excitement, and new experiences. Together we will truly "Reach for the Stars" !
To the Parents of My New Fourth Graders,
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to teach your children this year. It is a responsibility in which I take both great honor and great pleasure. It is my goal to ensure that your child grows academically and socially in third grade and that the knowledge learned can be applied to the best of his or her ability in school and in daily living. It is my firm belief that every child is capable of learning and deserves the best educational environment in which to do so. Each child learns differently and I strive to be sure that every student is instructed with his or her best interests at heart. I also believe in the mutual respect and support of school and home. Only by working together can your child achieve all the small successes that combine to make huge strides in accelerated achievement. I am always available to you to discuss your child's education and any concerns that may arise. Please feel free to contact me through email or over the phone. If it is during instructional time, I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I look forward to working with you to meet all your child's needs and celebrating the infinite successes he or she will experience this year in third grade!
